Hi everyone, my name is Christine and I am sharing what I love about Kamloops and focusing on businesses who’ve truly amped up their COVID-19 protocols so the community can enjoy and feel safe. Weekly I have featured three local businesses that I have visited or been in contact with by sharing my experience and highlighting what I love about each business.

Mt. Paul Golf Course
Last weekend, my husband, son and I headed to Mt. Paul Golf Course to go golfing. We have been here once before to golf but visited numerous times to hit some balls at the driving range. It was a beautiful, sunny day in Kamloops and the golf course has stunning views surrounding it with the mountains in the background – so we hopped on the golf cart and headed out. I haven’t golfed much in the past 10 years so I feel like I am a beginner beginner if that makes sense. My husband on the other hand, visits many of the local golf courses and loves to golf. He’s been trying to get us out for a family golf day for awhile so this was his dream come true. Needless to say, we had the best time; we already can’t wait to do this again as a family. Even with my son’s broken elbow, he was able to have fun and hit a few balls too. This course is PERFECT for beginners and an amazing course for children. We will definitely be back before the season is over. Even if you aren’t a great golfer, it is an awesome way to enjoy some family time and get outside – I 100% recommend this activity with your family!
KSpin Indoor Cycling Studio
I have been coming to KSpin Cycling Studio off and on now for the past 2 years or so, and recently, I was able to attend a class and I had the best time. The high vibe energy you feel when you are there really puts you in the best mood for the rest of your day. I met Sam (owner of KSPIN) a few years back when our children were in preschool together. I instantly loved her positive attitude and she always has a welcoming smile on her face when you enter the studio; so does the rest of the staff, making you feel at ease when you arrive. Sometimes group classes can be scary for some but these classes are nothing but fun. You can work as hard as you want to and don’t have to feel intimidated because you know you are there for you and to have the best workout. As a runner, I love mixing it up with other workouts and KSPIN gives me just that. I promise, you will sweat like you have never sweated before but you will leave feeling amazing. One thing I will tell you…it’s addicting. I always can’t wait for my next class with KSPIN!
Bright Eye Brewing
Since this fun little brewery has opened, my family and I have come here a few times. Each time we visit, we are never disappointed. My husband loves the different craft beer they have and I love that I can come to a brewery and still get a glass of wine. A few favorites on my list for you to try are the pretzels…they are sooo delicious and the dips that come with them too. Don’t share this tho, it’s so good you will want to have it all to yourself. We also love the Brussel sprouts, their pizza and the gnocchi (which I believe is a seasonal item)…the burgers & salads are also delish as well. This hip little spot in North Kamloops is a must visit. I love how more and more people are venturing for a bite out and visiting the North Shore! There really are some great hidden gems over on that side of town! Be sure to make Bright Eye Brewing the next on your list for some delicious food & yummy beer!
Volkswagen of Kamloops
I bought my first VW 12 years ago and fell in love! We just recently decided to trade in our VW Tiguan for the 2021 Atlas. We loved our Tiguan but as a family who loves to travel, we wanted something a little bit bigger. My husband started researching what the Kamloops dealership had in stock and sent a message late Thursday night…within 10 minutes we had a call from one of the salesman, Dan (who was awesome btw…very knowledgeable and helpful), and we had a test drive booked for Friday. I was quite impressed with how fast we received that call from him. When buying a new vehicle, you want the whole process to be easy and as quick as possible. The people at Volkswagen of Kamloops checked all the boxes for us – the service was absolutely amazing and they just made it EASY. Needless to say, we drove away Monday with our new wheels and couldn’t be happier. There is a reason we keep going back to VW: the service is exceptional, the staff are friendly, and they get everything done quick…they definitely made it a pain free, enjoyable experience.
