For Immediate Release
June 3, 2020, Kamloops, British Columbia – Today, YKAStrong launched a community campaign to inspire and ignite a movement to Support Kamloops. In recent months, many Kamloops businesses have pivoted to innovate their business models to stay afloat and others that were forced to close are beginning to reopen. The response to new health and safety protocols have many entering uncharted territory and require resident support to survive.
The Support Kamloops campaign will help to stimulate the local economy by encouraging Kamloops residents to support Kamloops businesses. With an imperative call to action to spend local dollars at Kamloops businesses, the campaign will explain how residents can participate in person or online, and why it is important that dollars remain in Kamloops.
The campaign will drive residents to www.ykastrong.com/support-kamloops for more information on how to engage with businesses. The site shares stories of businesses making a difference and provides links to businesses that are open throughout the city.
Residents are encouraged to share, over social media channels, by tagging @yka_strong on Instagram and using #ykastrong to join the conversation. Businesses and residents can download Support Kamloops messages and graphics to add to their own social media channels and on their websites. Posters can also be printed to display in windows and businesses.
