Kamloops Chamber of Commerce Takes Over YKAStrong

Kamloops Chamber of Commerce team walking through downtown Kamloops.

Meet the team from the @kamloopschamber, Acacia and Deanna, as they explore Downtown Kamloops in our YKAStrong Instagram Takeover this week.👇

Hey Kamloops, we are your Kamloops Chamber team and are thrilled to be taking the reins of the #YKAstrong Instagram for the week. Let’s get started!

Since 1896, the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce has been an integral part of the YKAStrong community promoting a healthy, prosperous and resilient business community for all to enjoy! Think about it – your local Chamber has been building community for 30+ years before the TV was even invented 📺 (mind = blown)

You will often find the team taking our meetings outdoors, checking in with business owners and dreaming up new ideas for Kamloops, a city we call home. We’d love to hear more about your ideas and how we can better support you – If you are interested in getting involved with your local Chamber, shoot us an email at hello@kamloopschamber.ca.

Kamloops Regional Farmers’ Market

When we talk about building a resilient community, we look to peers who walk-the-walk. We greatly admire The Kamloops Regional Farmers’ Market for all that they do. Supporting our local farmers, producers and makers helps us to appreciate and understand the importance of shop local, while directly supporting food sovereignty in the Thompson Valley – plus everything is just so DELICIOUS. 🤤

From the delectable pastries of @brynns_bakery to the beautiful jewellery from @wildheartbeads, the options are endless – we encourage you all to slip into a cozy fall sweater, pick up your seasonal PSL and take a stroll through your local farmers’ market.

The Vic Downtown

MMMMM……nothing is better than a morning coffee, are we right? ☕

People often ask, what does the Chamber do? What can they do for my business?

Your local Chamber is your direct link to all levels of government locally and nationally – they represent the interests of the business community and advocate for you based on insight gained from the community. That is just one component, they also offer you access to Canada’s #1 health & dental plan for small businesses and provide an abundance of networking opportunities – in short, they make connections for your business.

Want to learn more? Schedule a meeting to discuss your biz needs with Deanna! She is keen to learn about you and your teams goals. Whether you have a colleague looking to get involved on committees, a new teammate looking for professional development opportunities or you have an idea that you can’t stop thinking about – the team is eager to connect and excited to serve you.

Invictus Properties

#KamloopsTomorrow – what will our growing city look like in 2050 and beyond? A question our team often asks ourselves and we are always excited to discuss.

Invictus Properties and A&T Project Development Inc. see the potential in our community and are investing in the future of Kamloops. New projects like The Hive (the future home of Urban Systems) are taking shape to transform the Kamloops skyline while embracing the new ways we work, with perks like EV Charging Stations, premium retail space and expansive windows – we can’t wait to see this initiative take shape. 🏗️

Who else is excited to see The Hive transform the Kamloops skyline? 🐝

#explorekamloops

Nic of the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce admiring the downtown Back Alley Art Gallery.

We definitely can’t forget about Nic! Nic is the behind the scenes guy who is passionate (and we don’t use that word lightly) about highlighting the quirks and charm of the river city.

Ask him about his favorite things to do and he will always have an ongoing and updated list of his new favorite things to explore, whether planning a staycation at the @blackboxcontainerhome, hiking the beaten path of the Cinnamon Ridge Hoodoos trails, or sending you to sip the latest Frontenac Gris from Monte Creek Winery – he is an ambassador of our city and always keen to #explorekamloops.

He doesn’t see separation between business and community as he believes they both mutually benefit + prosper together and we should always be striving to continuously improve – that is why we call him our ‘Community Builder’.

Thank you for following along! We can’t wait to see how you continue to be #YKAStrong.
