Community Futures Thompson Country is YKAStrong

Nova from Community Futures Thompson Country

Hi everyone. My name is Nova and I work with Community Futures Thompson Country helping entrepreneurs throughout the Thompson Region become their own boss! We are very excited to partner with YKAstrong this week as I take over their feed.

Throughout the week I will be highlighting businesses that we have supported through resources, loans, programming, coaching, etc. and those that provide services to us.

Jak Natural Designs

Meagan from Main Street Clothing showing off Jak Natural Designs

Owner of @jak.naturaldesigns, Jackie Chapman, is one of our former students here at Community Futures Thompson Country. She went through our seven- week self-employment program to plan and launch her business. She even received support money from WorkBC!

“From the continued support of the local community, I closed Christmas custom orders in October and am booking into 2021. I am also sold out online.”

Products can still be found at @ourfootprintsco@mainstreetkamloops@5beanbrewbar and her online store will be restocked sometime this month.🤞

The Printing Place

Owner Kevin Dyck of The Printing Place.

Located on the Kamloops North Shore, The Printing Place, formerly Sure Print & Copy Centre, has been serving Kamloops for more than 30 years. Owner, Kevin Dyck started his career off as a metal fabricator, then 20 odd years later found himself purchasing a business very different from metal fabrication. He self-taught himself everything he needed to know about printing and graphic design, and today, 21 years later, he owns a very successful business.

Check out the company cards they printed for us!

Big Boot Inn

Big Boot Inn in downtown Kamloops.

@bigbootinn is a family run store in downtown Kamloops, who have been around for a long time! Can anyone guess how long? They are also clients of ours at Community Futures Thompson Country.

They are busy bringing in new footwear for the season to come. Pay them a visit and keep your toes happy!

Thanks for following along on our journey this week to read about who Community Futures Thompson Country is. Read about our friends on the Kamloops North Shore and stay tuned for next week’s takeover.
